Girls  Guitar School is dedicated to the education and empowerment of women and girls of all ages through music and especially the guitar. Students are encouraged to explore and discover their own talents and capabilities in the classroom and also through exposure to the musical wealth of the city around them. Students have gone on group field trips to concerts (such as the Donnas & Susanna Hoffs) and performed at events across the city in conjunction with musicians such as Joyce Raskin of Scarce and Exene Cervenka.

Our group format provides players with an introduction to open chords, power chords, simple scales and all things rock! They won’t be playing any princess themes either. Material is drawn mostly from female artists and songwriters like Taylor Swift, Joan Jett and the Donnas. *Currently on hold*

Our private lesson program is tailored to fit students needs, interests and goals.
